Mary Chew, MSPT
Mary Chew joined Capital Region Physical Therapy in February of 2023. She earned her BS degree from Allegheny College and her Master's in PT at Columbia University in 1988. Mary is a seasoned physical therapist with extensive experience in acute and subacute rehab, acute care, and outpatient orthopedic settings. She has a specialized expertise working with patients of all ages with diagnoses such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), scoliosis, torticollis, spinal and SI joint pathologies, chronic pain, as well as orthopedic and post-surgery patients.
Mary takes a holistic approach in her work, utilizing her extensive osteopathic-based manual therapy training which incorporates muscle energy techniques, craniosacral, strain-counterstrain, visceral and joint mobilization, and neuromuscular re-education. She has taught manual therapy courses locally and was an aerobics and Pilates instructor as well. Mary thrives on the various challenges associated with different conditions and takes pride in providing the best treatment possible.
When she isn't working, Mary enjoys swimming, bicycling, XC skiing and snowshoeing, book club, and spending time with her family and dog.
