Pediatric Physical Therapy? We Do That

Many patients of ours are often surprised to see a baby in the clinic receiving physical therapy care. Babies need PT? Sure they do! We treat patients of all ages, from birth to the older years.

So what condition could a baby have that may require PT?

Your newborn child or infant may need therapy if they have certain conditions. These may include:

  • Torticollis, or wry neck

  • Hypomobility

  • Low tone

  • Failure to meet certain specific developmental milestones

Many times your child may be able to receive county PT services in his or her home or daycare if they qualify for services. If your child is evaluated by a home PT and it is determined that their condition does not warrant services, many parents still want their child to be seen. That's where we come in. Talk to your doctor, and get a referral to see us. We can teach you strategies to help care for your child to maximize his or her full functional potential. Sandra Tricomi, PT, our pediatric specialist, is a wonderful PT with over 10 years experience. She's pretty awesome!
