Brett Sears, PT, Cert. MDT

Brett Sears was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Graduated in 1996 from West Virginia University with a degree in exercise physiology. From there, he moved to New York City and worked as a fitness professional and rehabilitation technician at Mt. Sinai Sports Therapy Center.

In 2001, Brett graduated from New York Medical College with a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. While at NYMC, he served as the 2001 Class President and on the Graduate Student Advisory Committee. Upon graduation, he moved to Albany and started working as a physical therapist in outpatient orthopedics.

In 2004, Brett began his specialization in spine care and started working towards certification in mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT), commonly referred to as the McKenzie Method. He earned his Certification in MDT in 2006. During his years practicing in the Albany area, Brett realized the need to offer specialized, personal care to patients that many other clinics in the area failed to provide. He decided to open Capital Region Physical Therapy in 2006, providing attentive, professional care to patients of the capital region.

In his free time, Brett enjoys athletics such as ice hockey, softball, and mountain biking. He may also be seen running in some of the area's 5k runs. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog, Cody.

Brett is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and McKenzie International.
